Saturday 9: Elected

Saturday 9: Elected

1. Many of my friends have commented they cannot discuss politics with co-workers, family, friends and others without conflict rearing its ugly head. Do you feel you can talk with your family and friends about this particularly divisive election?
+I am not from the US, so I when I answer yes to this question, I am referring to our local election. I've never had any heated arguments or discussion regarding politics. Maybe because we all like the same candidates..so far.

2. Do you know who you're voting for in next week's election? How did you decide?
+Not applicable to me.

3. What do you think is the most important issue in next Tuesday's election?
+Same as number 2.

4. Can you go a day without laughing?
+Yes, but it doesn't mean I have to. Right? =)

5. Do you think that you can chose who you want to love?
+Yes. Sometimes, the head rules over the heart.

6. Have you ever been on stage? For what? When I was younger.
+For different reasons: dancing, speech, quiz bee, etc, etc. All school related.

7. Would you ever live in a different country? If yes, where?
+I have been living in different countries for the past 6 years now. 3 years in Maldives, 2 years in Malaysia and 1 year in Cambodia (until now)

8. Any plans for Halloween? Not much.
+We just attended my son's Halloween school party yesterday.

9. The last costume that you wore, what was it and why did you choose it?
+From where I grew up, Halloween was not of big importance. We didn't celebrate it. Hence, no costume =(

Totes that won't break your wallet

If you're like me, you'd love these totes. Simple, no frill and everyday totes. Most of all, they're all easy on the wallet.

Tory Burch Jaden Canvas Tote, Black $195

Tory Burch Jaden Canvas Tote, Tanzania Purple $195

Tory Burch Jaden Canvas Tote, Tory Orange $195

Burberry Packable Tote, Plum $250

Burberry Packable Check Tote $295

Burberry Ikat Canvas Tote, Trench $595

Hunter Boots Saratoga Tote $395

Photos all from NeimanMarcus.com

I am honestly liking Burberry bags now. When I was in Singapore I was contemplating of buying a Burberry. And then it slipped my mind because I bought a Gucci bag instead. But when I was in the airport, I saw Burberry again and I wanted to have one. Unfortunately, my wallet can only cough up one bag at a time =(

Which of these totes you like best?

For dipping and diving

I think this is one of the coolest bath tub I've ever seen:

Maax Collection Viaggi Free Standing Soaker Tub. You want to guess how much? Don't, I'll just tell you. Hehehe. It's $9,450. I guess if you're loaded this is cheap. But for us, working class, we can only dream. LOL!

If I have a bathroom like this, I'd be sure to make everything look and smell good. How? First, I'd make sure I have the best bathroom fans installed. Second, I wouldn't use it. It's just for display, or for bragging. LOL!

Seriously, it's not bad to dream. In fact it is encouraged. So, from today onwards, I am hoping, I'll have a bathroom like this one day...

Of pills and exercises

Diet pills that work without exercise, is that possible? I've been wishing for a pill like that eversince I couldn't lose the extra pounds left by my pregnancy.

But guess what, I am too scared to try even one.

In the mean time, I will eat right and exercise everyday. I've been doing my routine exercise daily for two weeks now. But still no changes in the scale. I must still be eating a lot.

I remember when I was trying to lose weight a year ago, it seemed easy. I did not deprive myself with anything. I just ate in moderation and I exercised a lot. Probably twice a day. I am thinking I should do it again. I should log my exercises and the food I eat. That way, I could monitor everything.

Tomorrow I'll be doing new set of exercises which I got from self.com. It's called plyometrics.

This is going to be exciting. If you want to see the complete set, sign up self.com. I did! =)

Themed sleep wear

It's dark outside and it's drizzling. It makes me want to go back to bed. But instead I am window shopping and looking for comfortable sleep wear.

Would you think I am insane if I find nursing scrubs cute for sleep wear? Hehehe. I do.

Here's some I found which I want to buy as my sleep wear.

Scooby Doo

Ghosts, just in time for Halloween

And of course, Santa. Just right for the coming holidays.

Seriously, I want one. It looks comfortable. And it's fun too.

Saturday 9: I'm so Proud

Taking a break from shopping...I am joining a meme. Saturday 9: I'm so Proud. For more participants, please click on the photo below.

1. What are you proud of?
+ I am proud of my life. Some people look down on SAHMs but I don't care anymore. I know who I am to DH, to my son, and to my family.

2. What is the best thing you’ve ever won as a prize? How did you win it?
+ Materially speaking, I've won a wifi plug it in from a credit card's raffle draw but I haven't claimed it until now.

3. Tell us about something you've done that in retrospect was a waste of time.
+ I couldn't think of anything in particular. Hmmm..maybe building a relationship that's bound for a disaster even at the start.

4. How old were you when life changed the most for you? How did it change?
+ I was a few days shy of turning 28 when it happened. I gave birth to the most beautiful baby boy. And from then on, life became more exciting, hopeful, beautiful...

5. Tell us about a place you that you've been that you considered to be very tranquil.
+ I'd have to say a town named Kep here in Cambodia.

6. Who is your favorite news anchor/reporter? Why?
+ I don't watch much television these days. I don't know the names of the anchors or reporters anymore. Sorry.

7. If you were to have the opportunity to name a new town or city, what would you call it? Why?
+ I'd call it circuit city. It has a nice ring to it =)

8. What is something about which you've always wondered but have not yet found a good answer?
+ What goes on the kids' minds?

9. When you can't go to sleep, what is your personal remedy to help yourself drift into Lullabyland?
+ Nothing special. I just try to close my eyes and try not to move.

Wooden cases are cool

With the holidays 'round the corner, I have started my christmas window shopping already.

I only have a few people on my list so shopping and wrapping won't be too hard. But I want to start early so I can get the best pressie for each one on my list.

I was browsing through thisnext's recommended items and I came across these two products for ipod.

A wood ipod case. Perfect for DH. If I buy this, that means I have to buy an ipod for him too. Hahaha!!!

iWood by Miniot. Pretty cool! DH could use it for iPhone or maybe iPod Nano. He's planning to buy one anyway.

I've bookmarked the site. I will browse for more possibilities of course, before deciding which to buy. I need two pressies. One for his upcoming birthday this November and another one for Christmas.

To live in a glass

Literally!!!

My default home page is yahoo. It's for good reason. I always see something interesting. And today, I saw these beautiful modern homes for sale from yahoo real estate.

And my! What a beauty they all are. I have two favorites:

~~~
"Art and Surf" - Montauk, NY
For Sale: $12,500,000
Journey out to the end of Long Island, NY to find this modern, oceanfront gem. Enjoy glass-walled open living on the main floor and head upstairs to the private master that is set perpendicular to the main floor. Ceiling-to-floor windows on the main floor can be thrown open to let the sea air in, or to slip into the lap pool and spa. Walk down the stairs to your own private beach.
"The Glass Pavilion" - Santa Barbara, CA
For Sale: $35,000,000
In what architect Steve Hermann calls his "greatest achievement," the "Glass Pavilion" is set within an oak grove on 3.5 acres in Santa Barbara, CA. Glass wraps around the exterior of this 14,000 sq ft home and inside are big, wide-open spaces with contemporary furnishings and design. A wine room can hold several thousand bottles and the expansive art gallery presently contains a vintage car collection that can hold up to 32 cars within its walnut-lined walls.
~~~

If only I could afford this. But then again, you can never be too rich and too thin at the same time, right? I'll just buy some diet pills to help me shed pounds. I don't think I could afford any of these homes in my lifetime anyway.

But then again, who knows, right? I'll try skipping latte today. LOL!

Themed Dresses

Would you like to wear a garbage bag? Not in a million, right? But what if the garbage bag looks like this?

Photo by: stateofdress.blogspot.com

I read this from shine.yahoo.com. The artist creates themed dress sculptures in all 50 states. The dress above represents New York. It's called New York's garbage dress. Pretty interesting, right?

I think the model should have tried indoor tanning lotions before putting on the dress. Just my opinion. Don't take me seriously though. LOL!

To see the rest of the artist's creation, follow the blog or read it from yahoo.

I want a blue pistol in my bathroom

I found this from thisnext.com. Thanks dear Lui, for leading me to this site. I am totally loving it.

Looks real? That's just a hair dryer!

I've never seen a hair dryer that doesn't look like a hair dryer before. This is definitely a nice variation.

I would absolutely get one of this, if it's available here. I could use it to intimidate people, to start a Mesothelioma lawsuits or just about anything. LOL!

Seriously, it would be a pleasant addition to our bathroom.

Not just the right food but the right amount

I have been asking myself this question often this past few weeks "how to lose weight fast?" I know the answer. There's no way I could lose all my fats in one month. But I am really stubborn. Maybe there's a new formula where I could magically lose these unwanted pounds in just one month. Sigh.

I eat the right food always.

Photo from shape.com

But the portion, that, I have my doubts.

I have started NOT eating carbs at dinner time. It's been 4 days but it's not paying off yet. Maybe I should eat smaller portion too.

Let's see if there's an effect on my body.

Black and gray and some brown too

I am feeling melancholic today. It must be the weather. Dark and gloomy. But what better way to cure sadness than to window shop online, right?

I always, always visit needsupply.com. They do have the best basic wardrobe. They're simple but they're far from your common wardrobe. They're simple but speaks style and attitude.

I love their shoes, tops and bags. Today, these are my favorites from their website:

riding boots.

wooden shoes. love this!

poncho

super love this top. i wish i could get this. just wouldn't know where to wear it. lol!

I really should lose weight. I couldn't wear these clothes in my current state of weight. Arrrgggg.

That dress

I just finished a good workout. I mean a really good one. Hello triceps. LOL!

As usual, I am in front of my laptop and is surfing some online shopping sites. I want to buy a dress. I found a nice ensemble at Banana Republic. Unfortunately Blogger's image upload is disabled right now so I can't post the picture.

I am still hesitating whether to buy the dress or not. I really like it. I am already thinking of ways to style it to fit me. The only problem is that, I have no moolah. LOL!

If I were working, I could have had a payday cash advance already. But I am not working anymore and is only dependent on an allowance. How pathetic, right? Hahahaha!!!

I will find a way to get that dress. Even if it means, skipping meals this week. Just kidding about the meals of course, LOL! But not about getting the dress. LOL!

I will get back later to post the picture. Meanwhile, I gotta make plans how to earn money.

Fishy tanks

Would you like your toilet to be fishy? I mean, literally? If you do, then these toilet tanks are for you.

It looks cute. But it's not for me. I don't someone or something looking at me while I do my thing. Hahahaha!!!

How do you like these tanks? Pictures from this site.

At home exercises

I am consumed looking for home exercises. It's obvious I want to lose weight. And I want to do it right by eating well and exercising. Since I don't have much time for gym classes, I need to do the exercises at home.

Here's one I got from shape.com. It's part of Kelly Ripa's workout routine.

It's called the Triceps Can-Can Home Workout. I've tried it and I feel like my triceps are tight already. LOL!

But hey, before you do this exercise, make sure you stretch first. I don't want you filing for disability appeal just because you sprain or break a ligament or something. Okay?

I am going to look for more home exercises or workout and post it here.

Shopping for cold days

It's rainy season in the Penh! Time to bring out those cashmere sweaters from the closet!

The problem is I don't have one. I have a couple of cardigans but they've faded already. So guess what I did?

I shopped online. Okay, window shop.

Here's a few I found in different online stores which I like. If only, I could have their body too. Sigh.

Black is always beautiful.

Black and gray. I am loving the combination.

Pink. Girls should have one piece of clothing that is pink. At least in my humble opinion.

I love the ruffles on this.

A bright colored sweater to brighten a gloomy, cold day.

I haven't tried online shopping here in Phnom Penh. I might just do that before Christmas though.

Bamboos and Trees

Lately, I have been in the mood to decorate our apartment. I don't know what's gotten into me. I've planted roses on our pots, bought decorative stuff for our place. It's not bad. It's just that...well, since we are expats we usually just live on a bare minimum.

Anyway, I have been looking at wall papers and Manuka Wall Decals have caught my attention. I love their stuff there. Here are two of my favorites.

It's minimalist meets chic meets minimalist. Hehehe. I just love it. I wish I could find some wall decals here. Manuka, I think, is based in New Zealand.

Bowling in Heels

Possible! If you are Kim Kardashian.

Source

Truth be told, she was actually a host of the grand opening of some bowling alley. But still, can you throw a bowling ball in that high heels? Apparently Ms. Kardashian can. Me? I'd fall flat on my face the minute I wear those killer heels. Hahahaha!!!

Old vs New

I've read the debate going on about Gap's old logo versus the new one.

And I am going to join the bandwagon. Hehehe. I love shopping at Gap. I love their tees, most of my dresses are from Gap. My son's clothes are mostly from Gap. And hubby has come to love Gap as well.

The new logo does not seem to fit Gap. I don't know. It seems like it's not well-thought of. Just my two cents.

I read they are asking people's opinion and design. Hopefully they'll come up with a better logo.

What do you think?
