Bubble Necklace from J. Crew

I must confess I love jewelries. The bigger, the bolder, the better. Unfortunately, I am convinced wearing one doesn't suit me. So I always end up just lusting after one. Like this new necklace from J. Crew.

Out of topic - look at the model's eyebrows. It's thick but it's brushed (for lack of better words). It's nice. Is that the new look now? Mine is still skinny and arched. Hmm..maybe I should grow my eyebrows thick again.

Bubble Necklace $150 (USA price). If you live abroad, that's $202.50. At least that's the price I see if I want it delivered to Cambodia (where I currently reside). That's excluding tax and shipping. I wonder why there's a huge price difference? Paging J. Crew! What's up with the price difference?

Anyway, I can see myself wearing this necklace paired with my jeans, dress or bikini. It looks very versatile, don't you think?

Speaking of bikini, summer is just around the corner and we're thinking of going to the beach. Images of white sand, blue crystal clear water, a group of singers with Takamine Guitars, unlimited cocktails have already filled my mind. Ah, summer can't come enough.

My Golden Globe 2013 Favorite Looks

There were so many beautiful gowns on the Golden Globe red carpet. But like I always say, it's not just about the gown. It's about the whole package. It's how it fits the celebrities' body, the accessories and lastly how the celebrity carry the whole look.

My absolute favorites were:

Emily Blunt in a lace gold cut-out Michael Kors creation. She looked dazzling and glamorous. And I love how fit she looked.

Jessica Alba wore a peach gown that complemented her skin tone.  I love the hair, the v-shaped necklace and the purse. She was absolutely perfect!

Legoland Malaysia

This year, our first travel will be a visit to the first Legoland in Asia - Legoland Malaysia!

Legoland Malaysia opened last year and EJ being a Lego fan couldn't wait to see the whole place. We've already planned the trip for April of this year.

Legoland is divided into seven attractions: The Beginning, LEGO Technic, LEGO Kingdoms, Imagination, LEGO City, Land of Adventure and MINILAND.

I am sure he'll be thrilled to see the MINILAND, where Asian landmarks have been recreated. It's also interactive so I am sure this is a hit for the kids and kids at
heart.

From the map I can see there are several rides. I might be tempted to ride on one.

Legoland Malaysia is in Johor Bahru so we might be going to Singapore instead of Kuala Lumpur.

Some useful information I obtained from their website:

Day Tickets:
1-Day Ticket Adult (12-59) - RM 140 (Reg. Price) RM112 (7-Day advance booking online)
1-Day Ticket Child (3-11) - RM 110 (Reg. Price) RM88 (7-Day advance booking online)
1-Day Ticket Senior (60+) - RM 110 (Reg. Price) RM88 (7-Day advance booking online)

Opening Hours:
10am - 6pm (Longer opening hours on weekends and public holidays)

January is the Best time to Shop

I had the good sense not to buy anything for myself last month. Well, it wasn't just good sense, I also had the iron will not to shop because I know for a fact now that major retail stores usually go on sale every January. They want to dispose the year-end excess. And what better way to start the year than giving its customers a treat, right?

From Mango here in Phnom Penh, I bought this multi-printed dress for half its price.

Original price $44.90. Bought it for $22.45!

I also bought a blue blouse for only $17. I was tempted to shop more but I was in a hurry. I still have to check tv stands with mounts on another block.

From Zara in Manila, I bought a bag.

Soft Bowling Bag Original price P2,590. Sale price at P1,990.

With just a little over a hundred dollar, I was able to buy a bag, a couple of sweater and a blouse from Zara in Manila. It really pays to wait a little.

Until next sale season again!

For My Men

Happy 2013, everyone!

I hope you had a fantastic time celebrating new year with people who matter to you. After all new year's is about starting it with the right people with good vibes and good spirits, among other things.

I had a great time in the Philippines with my family. I get to play santa to kids and give my presents to my friends and relatives but you know what, I did not give anything to the most special men in my life - my husband and son.

In the rush of the season, I totally forgot to wrap something for them. Hubby said we're even because he did not give anything to me as well. LOL!

I still feel guilty though. I am now scouting for a possible late Christmas gift for him and the son. I thought about giving them a combined gift - mens leather bags. These bags will last them their lifetime.

I am partial to this because both hubby and son can wear this. When we travel, hubby usually carries son's backpack because the latter complains he can't carry heavy stuff for long. So if I buy this, hubby won't be carrying Lightning McQueen backpack anymore. I have nothing against it, it's just that it doesn't look nice on a man wearing a suit. LOL!

This one looks perfect too, don't you think? It just looks a little heavy though. But from the looks of it, it looks sturdy. And these Saddableback leather bags have 100 year warranty! Awesome!

Okay, now all I have to do is choose which of these two bags the men of my life will like. Hmmm. I think I know.

Gotta put it in my cart now.

Hello 2013

Today is the first day of the year 2013 and I spent most of day in bed. It's not because I want to but because I am down with a flu or something.

It's now almost 9pm and I just finished taking a shower. If were to strictly believe the old saying about how you spend your new year then I guess I'd be spending most of my year in bed sick! No!!!!!

Whether I believe the saying or not, I just don't want to spend the start of the new year being sick. So aside from taking the meds, I am also sipping tea and psyching myself up to get better faster. And I think it is working.

With the new year comes the usual new year's resolution. I haven't made my list because right now I am busy getting better. I also have prioritized listing the tasks I need to accomplish before we head back to Cambodia. I know that I am here for challenge coins among other things.

As for the new year's resolution, I know what I want to accomplish this year. Still, I want to write my resolutions down so it's crystal clear to me.

I hope you guys are having a fantastic time. How did you celebrate the new year's eve? Did you get to watch fireworks display? We did and we had the best view from our hotel room. Lucky us!

I wish everyone a year full of love, blessings and peace. Happy 2013!!!
