Metallic And Bronze

I'm inlove with these shoes from J. Crew. I am so tempted to order online and have it shipped here in Cambodia. I just have a couple of problems: delivery here in Phnom Penh is so unreliable and the shoes' price aren't exactly pocket-friendly.

My last online order (from Asos) did not arrive. I emailed them about the problem and they replaced it right away. The problem was it still did not arrive. When I told Asos, they were kind enough to refund my entire order.

Delivery without tracking number is still a matter of luck and guess work here Cambodia. I think I'd be more lucky to set up clamps by myself than to receive international orders again.

Anyway, here are the shoes I am talking about:

J. Crew Viv Metallic Flats
$188 - if shipped within US
$253.80 - if shipped to Cambodia plus shipping fee ($30) and taxes

J. Crew Viv Patent Flats Bronzed Clay
$188 - if shipped within US
$253.80 - if shipped to Cambodia plus shipping fee ($30) and taxes

Dear J. Crew, why do you have different prices for US and international destination? Your prices are already expensive. Why make it more unaffordable to your international clients?

Things I Want but Don't Need

When it's Christmas time, there's this strong urge to just shop and shop and shop until we drop. Probably because we feel that after a year's hard work, we deserve a treat. And while it is okay to reward oneself, there's the tendency to overdo it. And I don't want to do be like that anymore.

I will just buy what's necessary and the rest I will try to ignore even if they are already calling my name. LOL!

Here are the things I would LOVE to buy not because I need them but because I WANT them.

So in a way, this is my Christmas wish list. If anybody out there wants to give one of the list below, just leave a comment. Hahaha! Merry Christmas!

Charles Phillip Shanghai, Lizzette Python-Print Smoking Slipper $175 from Neiman Marcus

Rayban, Icons Wayfarer Sunglasses $145 from Neiman Marcus

Play Comme Des Garcon Stripe Sweater $390 from J. Crew

Fendi, Chameleon Tote Bag, Large $2,390 from Neiman Marcus

Chanel Cuff. I don't know how much but I am sure it doesn't come cheap.

Black, Nude and Red

I am flying to Bangkok in two week's time. My husband's attending a conference for a week and I together with our son are tagging along.

That means my son and I will be in Bangkok for leisure. I might take the opportunity to double check the equote life insurance given to my husband's company. At least that way, I am productive. LOL!

Of course, it goes without saying that I will also be doing some shopping there. I plan to buy some flat some and probably a couple of jeans.

I've checked Zara for some flats and here my choices:

Studded Slipper Php3,990

Patent Leather Slipper Php1,990

Soft Studded Moccasin Php4,990

Studded Slipper Php2590

If you notice, the colors are in black, nude, red and a little accent of gold. Those are my favorite colors. I also love blue. But I did not see any blue flats shoes.

Let's see if I'll be able to spot these shoes in Zara Bangkok. I'll be sure to report back here.

Heels or Flats?

The most comfortable shoes for women is relative. What is comfortable for one may not be comfortable for the other. And vice versa.

Also it depends on whom you ask. Some women will say, they are comfortable with heels, even high heels. Me? I can't even stand on shoes with heels anymore let alone walk and be comfortable in it. I say, I am most comfortable with flat shoes - sandals and ballet shoes.

If you take a peek in my shoe cabinet, you'd find a couple flip flops, a pair sneakers, a ballet shoes, and a pair of brogues.

For my birthday, I want to buy something for myself. I am actually thinking of shoes. Something I can wear everyday, something very comfortable and something that's not too pricey.

Here are my choices:

I like this Birkenstock Boston Suede. It looks so comfortable. And guess what, I haven't owned a Birkenstock ever! So I guess it is time I have one. Hmm.

Women's Merrell Wonder Glove. Now this looks very comfortable especially for long walks. It's just right timing as I am starting to incorporate walking as part of my exercise routine.

GAP loafers. I like this because it looks very chic, easy on the pocket and looks really comfy.

All these shoes are not available from where I am. Either I have to order them online or I have to ask someone to buy it for me.

During this time, I wish I live in a big city so I can buy anything I want. If I need to, of course.

Split-Toe Ballerina

Have you seen this shoes? It is a split-toe ballerina from Maison Martin Margiela. To be honest, it is my first time to have seen a split-toe kind of shoes. LOL!

I have seen the equivalent in socks but never in shoes. Well, it just goes to show how low my fashion IQ is.

It is available at Neiman Marcus for $595 (pre-order). Hmm..I am not sure I would shell that much of money though. I couldn't make up my mind if it's my type or not. Hahaha!

Or probably it's the price that's a big hindrance for me. If I just have the structured settlements like my friend had, I might consider buying the shoes. But then again, I could buy a "normal" ballerina shoes for a quarter of that price.

Do you like it?

All ready for summer!

I am almost ready for summer in the Philippines! What about you?

Physically, I am all ready. I have been working out so hard these past few months and I may not have the supermodel body but I think I have a beach babe body already. LOL! Just kidding! At best, I only have a passable beach body which I will still cover in a maxi dress or a cover-ups. LOL!

Clothing wise, I still need to go shopping. There's only Mango to shop here in Phnom Penh. That's a very limited choice. I though have two options: shop online or wait until we are in the Philippines to go shopping.

The logical side says I have to wait until we reach home. But I am impatient by nature, so I think I might go shopping online.

In fact, I have already started! LOL!

Here are my basic wardrobe summer essentials.

I need a maxi dress for long walks on the beach and for chilling at a bar on sundown.

A large tote where I can put everything in one go. I love this one from Nine West.

A pair of sunnies. I am liking the color blue lately. This one is Sabrina from Coach.

A wedge shoes for the summer. I don't wear heels or wedge for that matter but I think this time around I will. And this one looks comfy and pretty.

And last but not least a Baby G Digital Watch in Yellow to match the yellow wedge. I am attractive to yellow this summer.

Hmm..I do need to buy some hats as well. An accessory and an essential for summer, methinks.

What's your summer look?

Chic and Colorful Leather Ballet Flats from J. Crew

Ballet flats are part of my wardrobe essential. But that's because I rarely wear heels nowadays. Rarely means only on special occasions like my birthday or Christmas.

Most of the time, I wear ballet flats, slip ons and sneakers.

When I saw these J. Crew classic leather ballet flats in a variety of colors, I fell in love with them right away. And it's just right up my alley.

Here are my favorite colors.

in brocade gold

in bright cobalt

in golden sunflower

in soft fuchsia

I wish I could get my hands on them. J. Crew still does not ship to Philippines or Cambodia.

Are you a ballet flats kinda girl? What's your favorite color to wear?
