Xbox and Kids

Our Wii is more than two years old but it is only now that it is being used by my boys. I don't know why they weren't being explored much before.

Now, they play everyday! It is nice that it's being used but sometimes I get a little jealous because they spend so much more time now playing and even talking about it.

Boys.

My 5-year old even wants another gaming console for his birthday next month! He said it would be "awesome" if gets xbox for a present on his birthday!

XBOX 360 Bundle

My son wants one after he saw an xbox 360 controller in a friend's house and he got curious with it. He told me he played xbox with his friend and it was "awesome".

If I buy him the xbox, I am pretty sure the boys won't have time for me anymore.

With Retina Display

Hubby is considering buying the new Macbook Pro with retina display.

Photo from apple website

While the new macbook sounds so good, I objected to hubby's plan. He just bought his macbook over a year ago and it is still working perfectly.

It slowed a bit when he upgraded to OSX lion. He thought he would be reformatting hard drive but all he needed to do was to downgrade to its original osx.

After he did that everything was fine and it's fast again.

I don't know why he's thinking of buying the new macbook. He hardly uses his macbook anyway. He only uses it to sync his iPhone and iPad. And that's it. Well, sometimes he uses it to surf online.

I think hubby's addicted to anything Apple. Every time a new item comes out, he's tempted to purchase one.

Hmm..in the meantime, I am waiting for the release of the iPhone 5. LOL!

Charge Your iPhone with Just Water

I want to share something I got from Wall Street Journal's twitter account the other day. I think it's cool - charging your iPhone through a device using only water.

The device is a portable fuel cell called Powertrekk made by MyFC. The charger costs $225.

What do you think? Is it a worthy investment?

Lovin' My Macbook Air

So far, hubby has recommended two great things to me - this macbook and a pc charge for my online business.

But it took me a lot of convincing from hubby to buy the Macbook Air. Now, I am thankful I was swayed. My blogging life is so much easier and faster with my new Macbook Air.

Photo from Apple

I should have bought this a long time ago. I did not want to spend money on something I don't really need but it turns out this is exactly what I need for my work.

I am not techie so I cannot impress you guys with techie terms but let me tell you the things I love about my Macbook Air:

1) Light. I can carry it anywhere without breaking my back. And I can work lying down with the PC in my lap.
2) Fast. I can turn it on and shut it down in a few seconds. Unlike my old Compaq PC, it takes forever to shut down and reboot.
3) Facetime. After selling my iPad2, I was worried I could not facetime using the Macbook. But I can!
4) Backlit keyboard. I can blog even when our bedroom light is very dim. I love this.

The reason I was hesitant to buy the Macbook Air was because despite borrowing hubby's Macbook Pro for a while now, I was still adept with the Mac features. But once I had my own, I learned quickly how to navigate it.

My only regret was not buying the 13-inch Macbook Air. I only bought the 11-inch because I wanted to save $300. The 11-inch Macbook Air has no SD card slot. It's not really a big problem but it would have been easier to transfer photos from the SD card directly to my Macbook.

Aside from that, everything else is perfect!

All I want for Christmas

I just want one thing for Christmas - A new Macbook Air!

My old PC is almost dying. And it's literally asking for a replacement.

It would be nice to receive this as a gift. It would make my blogging life easier and chicer. LOL!

What's in your wish list?

Dubai stopover

We are back in Phnom Penh now. But before heading back home, we stopped at Dubai for two days and two nights.

I was caught off guard. I never expected Dubai to be so warm. And I am not talking about the weather. I was expecting it to be all buildings and nothing in between.

Boy, was I wrong!

We had a really fantastic time there. The weather was also nice making our walks very pleasant.

I knew Dubai is a shopping destination but believe me, we weren't able to shop a single thing.

Hubby wanted to buy the best headphones for noise reduction like this picture below but we did not have enough time for shopping.

It is so unfortunate as my friends tell me, they have the best prices for gadgets and their items are tax-free.

I was tempted to take a look at their luxury handbags. Fortunately for my hubby, I did not find anything I liked.

Or I guess I wasn't really in the mood for shopping too.

We were only able to visit several places and there are still so many places to visit and see in Dubai. It was definitely a case of "too much to see, too little time".

I promise to visit again someday. I would love to enjoy the rest of UAE and to experience tax-free shopping.

Time to own one

Hubby has been wanting to buy a camcorder ever since I can remember. But I always stop him.

I really didn't see any point in buying a camcorder before. For one, we had a digital camera that also records video. And the quality was fair.

But now, I think I am going to change my mind and even convince hubby to buy a camcorder. LOL!

Hubby is using an SLR camera which doesn't have a camcorder feature. My digi point and shoot camera has a video capabilities but it's not working well now after my son dropped it.

So I guess it's time we have our very own camcorder and I choose this one:

A canon vixia hf200.

It looks very spiffy and the reviews I read are quite good (I always read reviews!). And the price is reasonable.

What about you guys? Do you have a camcorder? What kind do you have?

A GPS Camera, perfect for our travels

I was thinking, I should buy a new camera for our upcoming travels. Hubby has an SLR and I have a point and shoot digital camera. But I heard there's a camera with a GPS. A camera and a GPS in one? I think it's perfect!

Meet CASIO Exilim EX-H20G with Hybrid GPS

It is a camera and a GPS bundled in one! Wow! Technology has never ceased to amaze me. New and awesome devices keep on popping almost everday.

According to the manuals, the features include 14MP, 3.0 LCD Screen Size, 10x Optical Zoom among others. But the highlight of the feature is the Built-in Hybrid GPS system. To borrow their words, it is "pre-loaded with world atlas data and information for nearly 10,000 sightseeing photo spots around the globe, so travelers can see photo opportunities around them."

Awesome!

For about $300, I think it's a cool package. Don't you think?

Stand in Style

You know what's fun about having a gadget? It's being able to "dress" it up. Yup, I am guilty of that.

My iPhone4 has had several "makeovers". LOL! Right now, it's wearing a protective black cover and sleek, chic red over all. I love it! Hahaha!!!

My iPad is using the light blue smart cover right now. It's nice. But now I am looking for a unique stand or holder. Guess what, I just might have found the right one at Accessory Geeks.

Check out their stands..

Isn't this cute? Speck iGuy standing case for only $39.95

This is so geeky. Breffo iPad spider podium for only $34.99

And their covers..

I love this rainbow zebra for $16.99 only!

Who wants some love? Plastic case for $29.99.

More fun with my iPad

Okay more about my iPad2.

I am not a techie person but I love gadgets. I am not anal about specs, I am more about the fun I get. So, I am not qualified to do a proper review of gadgets, really. Instead, let me just tell you a couple of apps I love using/playing right now.

There's the ZARA apps.

I love it that I get to preview clothes even before I go to the real store. In my case, the closet store is about 1 hour away by plane.

And Scrabble!

This is the apps I am currently addicted to. I bought it for $6.99 (I think, hahaha). I love it because hubby and I can play together via the party play. We just use both our iPhones as tile rack. It's cool! And addicting!

My birthday comes early

I posted about wanting a gadget for my birthday. And guess what, I just got what I wanted. I must have been really, really good. LOL!

My birthday is still one week away but I already got this:

iPad 2 for my birthday!

Hubby bought two, one for me and the other one to be shared between him and our son (bigger capacity). I don't want to go into details about iPad 2 because I am no geeky reviewer. All I can say is that I am having a great time exploring it. My iPhone 4 feels so small compared to my new toy. Poor iPhone, it's being relegated to the side now. Hahahaha!!!

I am happy that our internet is a bit faster now. With about 5-6 gadgets using the internet, it's still working well. I think it also pays off to have reliable wireless routers, otherwise we won't be able to use wifi for all our gadgets.

One happy and grateful girl right here!

I want a gadget for my birthday

My son's birthday is just 6 days away. I don't know what to give.

My birthday is 3 three weeks away. I don't know what I want to receive. LOL!

Hubby thinks we should just buy a tablet computer, and it's going to be a present for both my son and I.

Hmmm....okay.

This is a Blackberry Playbook. It looks cool. I have read the specs and it sounds awesome. I want!

But my son wants an iPad. I've never seen him get so excited about a gadget before but with the iPad, he's so crazy about it. Probably because, he's been playing on our iPhone and he wants a bigger one.

Let's see who wins.

Ipad 2

I hate Apple. Why? Because I haven't even bought the "old" iPad and now it's obsolete.

Just kidding.

I have an iPhone4 and I love it to bits. I am sure having an iPad is cooler. No, make that having an iPad 2 is way cooler.

I've checked Apple's website and got all these pictures and feature details.

It is thinner and lighter. Thinner than iPhone4!

It has two cameras, one on front and one at the back.

iPad smart cover. So many different colors to choose from. And it doesn't add bulk to iPad's thin design.

LED backlighting makes everything you see crisp and vivid.

Gyro, accelerometer and compass. I love this feature on my iPhone4 too especially when I am playing games.

Hmm..what else? It has dual Core A-5 chip which makes everything faster. And this is the most important feature, I think.

So will I buy an iPad 2 now? Yes. I only have one little problem. I have no budget for it. LOL!

Slim, slimmer, slimmest?

Would you believe the LED tvs and plasma tvs available now? So slim and so light!!!

We were in an electronic store the other day. Not really planning on buying another TV but we had a lot of time to kill and we didn't want to go home yet so we went to look around.

When these breed of tvs came out several years ago, they were really expensive. Only people with money can afford. Now, it's still pricey compared to the the tube TV (of course) but it's affordable.

I like this Samsung plasma TV 50inch. I am not going to buy this anytime soon though. If we go back to Philippines an dlive permanently in our condo, then I'd buy a slim TV like this.

Hopefully the prices will then be really affordable.

Since, we are only expats here and just renting an apartment, I don't want to spend money on these things. What we have right now is the old TV models. Kinda big but since it works fine, I am fine with it.

What about you? What kind of TV do you have at home now?

A convert

Well, almost.

I got an iPhone 4 as present from hubby last Christmas. I am totally loving it. And my son does too.
Hello iPhone 4. I love you already.

Yesterday, hubby bought his first Macbook Pro. I can hardly pry him away from his latest baby. Ouch! LOL!

Now I am thinking, I should sell my two laptops, actually a netbook and a laptop to be exact so I can buy a Macbook Pro or a Macbook Air.

But I am not sure I could sell my Asus netbook. I love it eventhough I hardly use it. It was one of the best netbooks available at the time I purchased it. It is still up to now. It's fast and spiffy looking and of course very handy.

If I couldn't sell my netbook, I could not afford to buy a Macbook. Tough decision!

I wish a fairy godmother would appear now. I know what to ask.

It's next week

Wow, it's Christmas next week! Can you believe it? It's next week!

Hahaha. Forgive moi, I am just so excited. I love Christmas and everything that goes with it. Parties, celebrations, gift-giving, food and more food!

Speaking of gift giving, I am still confused what to give the hubs. I know it's going to be a gadget but I can't choose between cell phones or laptops.

He's been giving me hints about iphones and macbooks. I couldn't possibly afford two items. I just have to choose which one.

Ahhhhh...Christmas.

Got to go. This one is just a quick post as I have a long list of things to do today.

Merry Christmas guys!!!

Cutie for day: usb sushi

Sushi, anyone?

I found this at dynamism.com

I'd surely buy this one if it's available here. But then again, I might confuse this with the real food and eat it. LOL! They look almost real, right?

Wooden cases are cool

With the holidays 'round the corner, I have started my christmas window shopping already.

I only have a few people on my list so shopping and wrapping won't be too hard. But I want to start early so I can get the best pressie for each one on my list.

I was browsing through thisnext's recommended items and I came across these two products for ipod.

A wood ipod case. Perfect for DH. If I buy this, that means I have to buy an ipod for him too. Hahaha!!!

iWood by Miniot. Pretty cool! DH could use it for iPhone or maybe iPod Nano. He's planning to buy one anyway.

I've bookmarked the site. I will browse for more possibilities of course, before deciding which to buy. I need two pressies. One for his upcoming birthday this November and another one for Christmas.

Father's Day is June 20th

It's one week away and I have been frantically looking for the perfect gift to give my husband. Mr. Google directed me to Gifts.com

And I saw this. A multiple gadget charging station.

"This charging station accommodates iPods, iPhones, Blackberries, or Bluetooth headsets, and is compatible with most personal electronics. Sleek, sophisticated design. 6 built-in universal connectors: 2 iPod/iPhone connectors, 1 Mini USB, 1 Micro USB, and 2 USB. Multi-unit charging capacity."

It retails for $89.50. Perfect! The only problem is that hubby doesn't have a Blackberry, an iPod or an iPhone. LOL!

What about you guys, what are you getting for your dads?
